John Bergstrom has been involved with advising companies on capital formation, merger & acquisition transactions, governance and strategy for almost three decades. He has worked with companies as an advisor on their liquidity processes by means of sale of the business to a larger corporation or a private equity firms, by means of initial public offerings as well as through recapitalization transactions. In addition to his significant transaction experience, John has been a member of the board of directors of over 20 companies, serving either as an independent member of the board or as the representative of investors.
John has been involved primarily with companies in the education, technology, software, business services and marketing services industries. He has been an advisor and/or board member to companies who have experienced liquidity events for their founders and investors including Capella Education, Dolan Media Company, Early Learning Labs, GradStaff, Instrumental, NetSPI and Tecmark Services. John is currently a director of businesses including Big Know, Linkup, CPS Group, Simpliconnect and Cramer.
He is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, B.A. and University of Minnesota, M.B.A. John is also actively involved in the community and currently serves on the boards of directors of Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity and Goodwill Easter Seals Foundation.
